Did you notice that there are only two tracks in TubeRockers? Someone should do something about this. Make your own tracks for whatever YouTube video you like, and save them as simple text. Or post the same text to forums, blogs, etc. Users than can paste the text into their TubeRockers game and play your track! The game also remembers added Custom Tracks! As I really don’t have talent and time for this kind of work I rely on You Fellow Track Makers.
How to use: First, you need a YouTube Video ID. thats a 11 characters long code found in the url of the video you ar watching. Go to YouTube, select a video. Now Observe the browsers current url. It looks something like this:
The bold part is the id. Select it and copy it by pressing ctrl+c. You can now paste this into the editor and begin creating a track. Alternatively, you can use a script generated by the editor and paste it into the lower textbox. This way you can save your track in a text file, edit, improve other people’s script, etc.
Now you simply have to go through the song and place notes at the right places. You can test your script any time in the game by copying pasting it into the proper textbox. Here’s a little overview about what you can do with the mouse. There will be some important keyboard commands too!
Now some very important keyboard commands:
- Hit arrow keys or A,S,D just like in the game to create notes! This works while playing the song or in pause mode so you can “record” your playing in real and correct mistakes later!
- Press and hold an arrow key or A,S,D to create a “long” note. This can be only done with keyboard. Then you can adjust it’s legth by dragging the grey knob.
- You can smoothly scroll up and down with the C and X keys. No need to use the seek bar for that.
